Bernese Oberland ski tour

 Interesteing times with one of the best groups ever. We had mixed conditions with some white out conditions and testing navigation, but our efforts were rewarded with  some outstanding sunshine and memorable powder ski descents. Our exit from the Hollandia hut was quite exciting this morning but once we located the pass in the dreadful weather the ski down was pretty good.

Ski Mountaineering antics

We had a stormy weekend in the Cairngorm but still manged to make  effective use of our time.  Enjoyed lots of skills from skiing in terrible vizability  which is good for navigation, crevasse rescue hauling ststems and procedures, prussik practice,  snow pack stability and tree hugging!

Wonderful Cairngorm

Scottish weather is on average terrible and one does often think,"remind me why I live here?" Sometimes though, it does come toghether; with fresh snow, low temperatures and low winds and when that happens, its truly superb!

The climbing crags are plastered with new snow but good cover on Cairngorm Mountain ski area.

 Industrial Rope Access training and assessment at Ratho today, on one side of the climbing walls there is the world class indoor climbing arena and on the other side of the wall an IRATA training area!
