Revelstoke Mountain Resort

It not that often we ski on piste but a bit  similar Grand Montets in Chamonix although the scale here is even bigger you can utilise the lifts here for outstanding back county access,  This images shows the town of Revelstoke by the Columbia river from Revelstoke Mountain Resort (RMR)

Mt Mackenzie bowl.

Local knowledge from Simon and Alan

Climbing in the Cairngorms today with Ewan

Ewan on the Runnel

Ewan at the belay on the last pitch. quite good conditions, quite frozen in the shade with the cornice not over threatening, but I would not recommend being too late. It worth noting that the cornices to the immediate West of the climb are still overhanging and exposed to the sun from early in the morning.

View from 1441 metres back ino the Coire.

Cairngorm skills day with Helen

A perfect day with the Ptarmigan seemingly enjoying the spring like climate

Still plenty snow although the steep buttresses are stripped of snow

Helen, after crampon session on the Flat Ice we worked on steep ground...

Nice days winter climbing on the North of Scotland

My good pal, Andy Nisbet

A really scary pitch,  moss on the crux moves rather then turf, very then and fragile ice... seconding it once the ice had been sheared off felt precarious... Andy going really strongly...  my hero!!!
Me, coiling the rope after our second new climb of the day... two grade fives,  lucky boys!
