Cairngorm Winter Climbing - conditions still great for late April!

Took my pal Roger Gaff winter climbing yesterday!

Roger on belay. He was one of the first persons to take me climbing when I was around 19 years old... its was a cold and overcast day with Northerly winds.

Good tilt on the camera Roger -  trying to make me look better than I am!

Revelstoke ,Golden and Canmore

Its time to say good bye to Canada after a series of Nanga Parbat Mazeno ridge lectures organised by many fine friends including Alan Dennis, Kendra Runnels and Maria Coffee. Some lectures ( at  Vancouver, Langara Colledge, Revelstoke and Golden) were simply to promote my book 'in Some Lost Place'  although the main driver for this trip was our last nights lecture at Elevation  with Barry Blanchard  here in Canmore. We raised some funds for the Boardman Tasker Award. Thanks for those who donated so generously and to Maria and April for their organisational skills and time and to Chic and Kathy Scott for transportation and my dinner.

With Alan and Kendra at the Golden Library. Thanks to Ian and Sue for accommodating us in their lovely home.

Canada ski and sailing days

Simon giving us  some idea of an interesting skinning route from the ski pistes of Revelstoke Mountain Resort (RMR)

A cool place to be!

My buddy Alan

We have also been sailing in the Salish sea with wonderful overnight anchorages in tranquil island bays with its vast array of wildlife, even saw a Whale. Back at Squamish ' the Chief' was running in rain water?
