Back to Chamonix for a late start to the summer mountain guiding season...
We are enjoying the fine summer weather here and hoping that it continues. I was out this morning climbing with Freya again, who has made amazing progress on sport and traditional climbing. We finished our day on 6b+. We are taking bookings for beginners rock climbing, transition from indoor gym climbing to the outdoors, sport and traditional climbing skills. As always we are open for private guiding, walking, climbing, mountaineering and ridge scrambles.
I had the good fortune to instruct some rock climbing with Freya and Dave the other day at Comic Crag, after some instruction Freya impressively led her first rock climb...
Lovely day, rapid change of plans to relocate our days activity to the wonderful North West of Scotland.
A wet start to the day here in the Cairngorms National Park. There is still lots of snow in the Northern Cories and skiers and handful of climbers were out enjoying the mountains today. We went to Coire an t Sneachda and had a good climb.
The unseasonably cold weather seems to be coming to an end but there is still lots of snow in the coires of the Cairngorms. Today we climbed in Coire An T Snechda on Central Gully! The snow was softer with the occasional indication of some slight rock fall, but in general with care and consideration the lower graded gullies are quite climbable.
Wonderful day at the Burghead sea coast instructing traditional climbing.
JB Pilon climbing.Nice day at work today with Nick who cruised up his first winter climb, we were so lucky to catch such wonderful weather and climbing conditions.
Wow, we have had a fantastic spell of fine weather here and the climbing and ski-mountaineering is good. Due to the Covid rules we can only participate with local climbers but as we live in the Highland Region that still give us a great selection of fine people to climb with but one should still take care and try to keep to the rules. Do remember to stay safe and stay local.
