Late winter climbing this spring time - Cairngorm National Park

A wet start to the day here in the Cairngorms National Park. There is still lots of snow in the Northern Cories and skiers and handful of climbers were out enjoying the mountains today. We went to Coire an t Sneachda and had a good climb.

Coire An T Snechda, Winter Climbing - Cairngorm National Park

The unseasonably cold weather seems to be coming to an end but there is still lots of snow in the coires of the Cairngorms. Today we climbed in Coire An T Snechda on Central Gully! The snow was softer with the occasional indication of some slight rock fall, but in general with care and consideration the lower graded gullies are quite climbable.

Self arrest practice.

There is plenty snow!
