Photos from Broad Peak

Today I had some photos sent to me in the post on a memory stick from Sandy at Base Camp. Thanks to Max at KE Trekking group for sending it!

Here's a selection of the photos to brighten up the blog!

Bad weather improving

Sandy, Rick, Stan, and Kacper are all back at base camp after a few days of bad weather. Lots of deep snow, avalanches higher up sounding like "express trains" and with nobody else on the mountain, the team decided to hang out at base camp for a better weather report. There have been whispers from other teams on the mountain that are going to abandon their attempts but Sandy and team decided to wait and see. (Friday, June 29th)

On Sunday 1st July, the team decided to try and attempt to get up to camp 2 to sleep on Monday. Stan and Kacper are going to climb at night so left on Sunday night/early Monday morning. Rick and Sandy going later on Monday morning. The weather is much better for the climb than it was on Friday.

On Tuesday, 3rd July, the team made it back down from 6620 meters. Kacper and Stan at around 2am after night climbing and Sandy and Rick at 3.30pm. They are all back at Base Camp now.

More when it comes...
