Around Newtonmore there are many wonderful climbs. today with my friend Roger we climbed on Binnein Shuas. The classic line is Ardverikie wall, first climbed by D. Lang and G. Hunter in June 1967. The Scottish climbing activist Tom Patey was one of the first to explore the crag but the day was a misty one and he did not see much climbing. He later said that it was one of the best climbs he had ever walked past!
My good pal Roger (71) first took me to this climb over thirty year ago so it was great to be back there climbing with him today.

Nice blog. Correction: G Hunter explored the crag in 1965 with Tony Viveash on a washed out Winter Carn Dearg MC Meet. I visited again in 1966 with Bod Devine, but in 1967 with D Lang we climbed Ardverikie Wall, and lots of other splendid routes.
Good Luck,
Graeme Hunter
